Alex's Birthday!

Alex loved the fact that his birthday was on the last day of school. He thought that was the best present EVER! He's been making plans for months to have this big, wet birthday party. Mom wasn't so sure about the wet idea. We compromised on a pirate them.
The kids all got decked out in bandannas and eye patches (which broke right away thanks to some not so super, super glue) and made "crew" flags. Of course, the boys vs. girls rule was in effect- cooties still exist apparently ;)

The teams competed in relay races that... were muddy, twisted and a bit painful to observe and then a treasure hunt. We ended the activities with a pirate crew "steal the flag game" with water guns as a means to get people out which actually turned into an all-out no rules squirt gun fight. Pete even got involved. Do you see Pete? He's up in Becca's room shooting out the window at all the little kids on the ground- had an advantage? I think so!
As a family we went to Naps, a BBQ place here on base where they brought Alex this HUGE piece of cake for his birthday. Mom and Dad gave Alex a remote control tank that shoots bbs.
It was a busy fun day. And Alex is now 8. Crazy!
